Download ImageBaked Kafta Potatoes & Rice Ingredients1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef1 bunch parsley, chopped1 onion, finely diced or grated1 1/2 tsp salt2 tsp 7 spice1/2 tsp black pepper1/2 tsp cinnamon3 tomatoes, cut in round slices3 potatoes, peeled and sliced (I use Russet potatoes they hold their shape well when placed in sauce).For The Sauce3 tbsp tomato paste4 cups water1 tsp salt1/2 tsp 7 spice1/2 tsp dried basil1/4 tsp black pepperMethodIn a large bowl combine beef, onion, parsley & spices and mix until all the ingredients are well combined.Form the mixture into patties and place in a oven safe baking dish, alternating with potatoes and tomatoes (you can also layer them on top of each other).In a separate bowl, add all the ingredients for the sauce and whisk together very well.
