Kefta Meatballs Cooked In Creamy Yogurt Sauce

For The Kefta Ingredients

1 lb Ground meat1 Medium onionFinely chopped3 tbsp ParsleyFinely choppedSalt and pepperto taste1 tsp Cinnamon

For The Yogurt Sauce

900 g of whole milk yogurt1 cup of sour cream(optional)1 egg1/2 cup of water2 tbsp of cornstarchsalt to tasteDash of vinegar (1/4 tsp)2 tbsp fresh cilantro3-4 cloves of garlic minced2 tbsp of butter (to fry the cilantro and garlic)

Steps

Mix together the meat, onions, parsley, salt, pepperShape your meat into balls, fry them in a pan on medium high heat until cooked through (about 9-10 mins)- you can air fry if desired.Set aside.In a pan mix the yogurt, sour cream, water, cornstarch, egg and vinegar using a hand held blender until smooth and well incorporated.On medium- high heat cook and stir the yogurt until it starts boiling**Drop the meat into the yogurt mix.Bring back to a gentle boil.In the meantime, fry your cilantro and garlic until it’s fragrant and add to the yogurt. Give it a quick mix/ boil.Enjoy it topped with toasted pine nuts and rice.** don’t stop stirring- mom says it’s important to stir in one direction no one knows why.
