Ingredients

1 tbsp olive oil1 onion, diced2-3 cloves garlic, minced1 packet of fresh lasagne sheets1 – 1.5 cups of Pizza blend grated cheese500 g minced beef3 tbsp tomato paste1 tsp dried oregano1 tbsp dried Italian herbs1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce1 capful @navilla.au Vanilla Essence1 tsp vegeta1-2 cans tinned diced tomatoes1 tsp cinnamon powder1 tsp mixed spicesSalt and pepper to taste1 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley

Béchamel Sauce

4 tbsp butter4 tbsp plain flour3 cups full fat milkSalt and pepper to taste1 tsp vegeta

Steps

Preheat oven to 180.Heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the onion and garlic and cook till golden.Add beef and cook for 5-6 minutes, until browned. Stir often, breaking up any large chunks of meat with a spatula.Add the tomato paste, oregano, Italian herbs, Worcestershire sauce, @navilla.au vanilla essence, vegeta, cinnamon, mixed spice, tinned tomatoes, salt and pepper. Stir and bring to the boil. Turn down the heat and simmer for 15 -20 minutes until thickened.In a seperate saucepan, add the butter and cook till melted.Once melted and bubbling slightly, add in the flour and whisk it into the butter.Keep gently whisking over the heat for one or two minutes to cook the flour. Add in a good splash of milk, turn up the heat and stir with the whisk to mix thoroughly, continue till milk is finished.Don’t worry if you get a few lumps, keep stirring with the whisk and they will disappear as the sauce thickens. Once thickened, add in the salt & pepper and vegeta. Stir together and then turn off the heat.Layer the lasagne by sheet, meat sauce and bechamel till the last layer. On the last layer, add bechamel and then top with cheese and put in oven for 20 minutes or till golden.Once cooked, take out of the oven and let it stand for about 10 minutes before serving.Enjoy!
