Ingredients

For the dough:1 cup 2 Tablespoons warm water1 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast2 Tablespoons sugar60g unsalted butter, melted1 3/4 teaspoons salt3 cups good quality bread flour or all-purpose flour(I used la Molisana ’00’ soft wheat flour)For brushing:60g unsalted butter, melted1/2 teaspoon salt1/4 teaspoon garlic powder1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

(You can use a mixer or knead the dough by hand)IF USING A MIXERIn the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, combine all ingredients for the dough except flour. On low speed, gradually add flour. Increase speed to medium and knead dough for 7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. You may need to add flour during this process as it can still be sticky.IF KNEADING BY HANDIn a bowl combine all the ingredients for the dough except flour. Add the flour 1 cup at a time, mixing with a wooden spoon as you go. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead by hand until smooth and elastic. You may need to add flour during this process as it can still be sticky.Remove dough to a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a dry towel. Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 1/2 hours.Divide dough into 12 portions. Roll each piece of dough into a 7-inch log. Place dough logs on a nonstick baking mat or parchment-lined baking sheets, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.Preheat oven to 2000c. Bake for about 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Meanwhile, combine butter, salt and garlic powder in a small bowl. Remove the breadsticks from the oven and immediately brush them with the butter mixture. Serve warm.
