Dal vada, also known as parippu vada, is a popular snack in South India. It is a deep-fried fritter made with chana dal (split chickpeas) that have been soaked, ground, and seasoned with a mixture of onions, ginger, green chilies, curry leaves, and spices like cumin and coriander. The mixture is shaped into small patties and then deep-fried until golden brown and crispy on the outside, while still soft and flavorful on the inside. Dal vada is often served with coconut chutney and sambar, a spicy lentil soup. It is a delicious and satisfying vegetarian snack that is enjoyed by people of all ages.
