Download ImageWatch Video Authentic Butter Chicken IngredientsFor the chicken marinade-(serves 4)800gms boneless chicken cubes1/4 cup yogurt1/4 tsp chili powder1-2 tsp paprika1 tsp cumin3/4 tsp garam masala3/4 tsp garlic powder1/4 tsp ginger powder3 tbsp lemon juice1 tsp saltFor The Gravy2 tbsp butter/ghee1 tsp cumin seeds1 large onion6-7 cloves of garlic1 inch ginger1 tsp coriander powder1 tsp cumin powder1 tsp shawarma spice/meat spice1/2 tsp chilli powder1 tsp paprika1 tsp salt400 gms crushed tomatoes150ml heavy cream1 tbsp dried fenugreek (kasoori methi)4 tbsp coriander leavesStepsMarinate the chicken with yogurt & the spices. Keep aside for 1 hour atleast or overnight. Pan fry the chicken/air fry until golden brown & set aside.In a large skillet, heat the butter & add cumin seeds. Once sizzled, add the onions, garlic & ginger. Saute until onions are translucent.Add the spices as mentioned & saute for 2 mins.Add the tomato puree & saute until it thickens & gets a deep red colour.Remove from heat & blend until smooth.In the same skillet add 1 tbsp butter & whole spices. Pour the pureed sauce & add the cooked chicken.Cook for 5 mins & then stir in the cream & kasoori methi. Garnish w more cream & fresh coriander.Serve with naan or steamed rice. Enjoy!
