Ingredients 500 g chicken (I used 2 chicken leg quarters, cut into thighs & drumsticks)1 tbsp garlic ginger paste1/2 tsp turmeric powder1 tsp coriander powder1&1/2 tbsp Kashmiri or red chilli powder1 tsp salt1/2 tsp ground black pepper2 cups potatoes (cut into 2 inch cubes)2 tbsp oil1 tbsp cumin seeds2 cups onion (sliced)1 tbsp tomato paste1/2 cup Turkish or Greek yoghurt1/2 tsp garam masala Steps In a big bowl, add chicken pieces, garlic ginger paste, all the powdered spices, salt & pepper, marinate for at least 1 hour.When ready to cook, heat oil in a large pot over medium high, add cumin seeds, stir for 1 min.Add onion & cook until translucent.Add tomato paste, marinated chicken pieces & water, stir, cover & bring to a boil.Cook for 10 mins.Lower heat, add potatoes, yoghurt & garam masala, bring back to a simmer.Continue simmering for 15-20 mins (stirring often) to ensure that chicken & potatoes are cooked through.Taste to adjust seasoning, garnish with chopped fresh herbs of choice (optional) & serve with rice or bread.
