Watch Video Homemade Potato Pies Ingredients 5 sheets of shortcrust @pampaspastry ( each sheet should cut out 2 bases)3 sheets puff @pampaspastry (Each sheet should make you 4 lids)1/2 kilo beef mince2 large brown onion finely chopped2 sachets of continental shepherds pie mix @continentalfoodsau500mls waterFor the mash potato filling6-7 small white washed potatoes and make your mash as you normally would . (I boiled them till soft) Steps Used a potato ricer to mash (eBay) and folded in 1 tsp salt , 1/2 cup milk , 1/2 cup butter .Fry off onion and beef mince until cooked and add the sachet and water and simmer few mins until it thickens .Wait until your fillings are cool before you assemble your pies .Shortcrust for the basePuff pastry for the lidPut about 3 tbs meat filling in each pie and about 2 tbs potato on top before closing with the cut puff pastry .Follow the cooking instructions of your desired pie maker .Tip- the base cutter is bigger than the lid cutter they are 2 different sizes .Please refer to my potato pie highlight for further demos and feel free to ask me any questions in the comments.
