Download ImageAloo Keema (Ground Beef & Potato Curry) IngredientsWhole Spices2 inch cinnamon stick3 cloves1 tsp cumin seeds1/2 tsp coriander seeds1/2 tsp black peppercornsCurry2 tbsp oil1 large onion (finely diced)1 tbsp garlic (grated)1 tbsp ginger (grated)500 g minced meat of choice (I used beef)1 cup tomato (finely diced)1 tbsp tomato paste1 fresh green chilli (finely diced)2 tsp coriander powder1 tsp cumin powder1 tsp turmeric powder1 tsp red chilli powder1/4 tsp ground black pepper1/4 tsp garam masala1 tsp salt (to taste)2 tbsp yoghurt3 cups potatoes (cut into 1 inch cubes)1/4 cup water1/2 cup peas (optional)StepsHeat a large pot over medium high & add oil, whole spices & onions.When onions turn translucent, add garlic & ginger, cook for 1 min.Add ground meat, stirring often using a wooden spatula to break up the lumps & cook until it changes colour (abt 5 mins)Add both types of tomatoes, chilli, ground spices, salt & yoghurt.Cook until tomato breaks down & oil starts to separate from meat.Add potatoes & water, reduce heat to medium low, cover & cook for 20 mins, stirring frequently until potatoes are tender (add peas in the final min of cooking if using)Taste to adjust seasoning, garnish with chopped herb (cilantro for me) & serve with roti or rice (or both) Source : www.instagram.com
