Download ImageZa’atar Manakish IngredientsDough1 tbsp instant dry yeast1 cup warm water1 tsp granulated sugar1 tsp salt3 cups AP flour (plus more for dusting)2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (plus more for greasing bowl)Topping1/3 cup zaatar2 tsp toasted sesame seeds1/2 tsp sumac1/2 tsp chilli flakes1/2 tsp salt1/3 cup extra virgin olive oilStepsIn a large bowl, add yeast & warm water, set aside for 15 mins.Add salt, sugar & olive oil, use a wooden spoon to mix until combined.After 2 mins, add flour & mix with a spoon until dough becomes shaggy.Transfer to a floured surface & knead dough by hand to form a ball.Lightly grease bowl with olive oil, place dough back into bowl, cover with towel & set aside at room temp for 1-2 hrs until it doubles in size.Meanwhile, mix all ingredients for the topping in a bowl, taste ro adjust seasoning & set aside.Preheat oven to 230 deg C & line a baking sheet with parchment paper.Divide dough into 12 balls, use fingers to spread each piece into a round flat disc (abt 1 cm thick)Place discs onto prepared baking sheets, add 1 tsp za’atar mixture on each dough & use the back of the spoon to spread evenly.Bake for 10-12 mins, until dough becomes light golden in colour & puffs up slightly.Enjoy warm with cheese & vegetables of choice.
