Download ImageFish Biryani Ingredients1 kg – filleted fish (I used king fish)1 tsp turmeric1 tsp chili powderSalt according to taste3 Tbsp lemon juice1 cup Oil1 tbsp ginger garlic paste1 cup tomato purée750 gms (Basmati Rice, washed and soaked for 30 minutes)1 cup fried onion1⁄4 cups plain Yogurt1⁄2 cup Cilantro1⁄2 cup Mint leaves10 – 15 Green Chillies whole, slit from one side1 packet Shan Bombay Biryani MixMethodMix turmeric, chili powder, salt and lemon juice and rub it on fish pieces and marinate for 2 hours .Heat 1/2 cup oil and fry the fish pieces from both sides until they are fully cooked. Set asideHeat half a cup of Ghee/Oil and fry3 sliced large Onions until golden brown and set them aside on paper towel.Use the same oil and add ginger garlic paste. When it’s golden brown add tomato purée, fried onion and Bombay biryani mix. Cook until oil separates.Add yogurt in and let it cook until oil separates. Then add marinated Fish, green chilies, and fresh Coriander. Avoid over mixing the Fish.Add 7 glasses of water and 2 tablespoons Salt. Bring to boil and add the soaked Rice. Cook until the rice is three-quarter tender. The drain the liquid thoroughly.Spread half the rice in a pot and evenly pour the cooked fish and masala over it. Add chopped mint and lemon slices. Then spread and cover it with remaining rice.Pour the oil that is left from frying the fish on top. Sprinkle some fried onion and pour some orange color. Cover and cook on low heat until the rice is fully cooked.Serve with raita and salad. Source : www.instagram.com
