Watch Video Green Masala Chicken Pies Ingredients 40g Fresh coriander40g fresh mint40g spring onionsGreen chillies to taste1/4 cup plain thick yogurt3 tablespoon lemon juice***Blend the above to form a paste.***Add to the items below and marinate overnight.500g chicken fillet cut into small cubesSalt to taste1 teaspoon white pepper1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder1 teaspoon Coriander powder1 teaspoon cumin powder1 1/2 teaspoon garam masalaFew drops of Green food colour ( optional) Steps Heat 2 tablespoons of oil.Add 150g finely chopped onions and saute until soft.Add the marinated chicken and cook until firm and dry.Add 1 tablespoon of corn starch mixed in 1/2 cup water to the chicken.Mix and simmer until you get a thick saucy consistency.Add a little more water if its too thick. Dont make it too runny.Cool completely.Fill into your pie cases.I used precut oval pie cases @pastry_delights_sa of 30g each.You will need 40 pieces.( place one pie pastry onto your work surface, add about 1 heap tablespoon of the chicken filling on top.To the other top pastry brush with eggwash. Place eggwash side down towards the filling. Seal the pies well by pressing the corners down with a fork.Brush with more eggwash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.Bake at 180c just until you see the pastry puff up; Then reduce to 160c and bake until done.Enjoy these piping hot with your favourite chutneys.
