Parathas are a type of flatbread that originated in the Indian subcontinent. They are a staple food in many Indian, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi households, and are often served for breakfast or as a side dish to a main meal.

Parathas are made by mixing flour, water, and salt to form a dough, which is then rolled out into flat discs. The dough is then typically filled with a variety of ingredients such as vegetables, spices, or paneer (a type of Indian cheese), before being folded and rolled out again into a circular shape.

The parathas are then cooked on a griddle or tawa until golden brown on both sides, and can be served with a variety of accompaniments such as chutneys, pickles, or curries.

Parathas come in many different varieties, with some of the most popular being aloo paratha (filled with mashed potatoes and spices), methi paratha (filled with fenugreek leaves), and paneer paratha (filled with Indian cheese). They are also often flavored with different spices such as cumin, coriander, or chili powder to give them a unique taste.
