Heat oil in a large pot, char the onion and ginger for 2-3 min over high heat then add the rest of the aromatics and cook for another min<br \/>\n2. Add in chicken pieces, scallions, fish sauce, soy sauce, chicken powder, sugar and water. Let it boil, cover, and simmer over low heat for 1 hr<br \/>\n3. Add chicken balls and cook for 5-10 mins<br \/>\n4. Remove chicken pieces and balls<br \/>\n5.
