{"id":3161,"date":"2022-03-10T08:50:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-10T00:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/resepmamiku.com\/en\/?p=3161"},"modified":"2026-03-09T21:02:58","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T13:02:58","slug":"potato-pierogies-wondernonieskitchen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resepmamiku.com\/en\/potato-pierogies-wondernonieskitchen","title":{"rendered":"Potato Pierogies"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Dough Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>4 cups AP flour (plus extra as needed)<br \/>\n1\u00a0tsp salt<br \/>\n1\u00a0egg<br \/>\n1\/4\u00a0cup\u00a0sour cream or yoghurt<br \/>\n3\/4\u00a0cup\u00a0water<\/p>\n<h2>Steps<\/h2>\n<p>Mix Everything On Low Speed, In The Bowl Of A Stand Mixer, Knead Till It Forms A Smooth &amp;Amp; Elastic Dough (Abt 8 Mins), Cover &amp;Amp; Set Aside.<\/p>\n<h2>Potato Filling<\/h2>\n<p>500 g potatoes (peeled &amp; cubed)<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp salt<br \/>\nwater for boiling<br \/>\n1 cup soft cheese of choice (freshly grated)<\/p>\n<h2>Steps Filling<\/h2>\n<p>Add salt to a pot of water, place potatoes &amp; bring to a boil.<br \/>\nCook for 20-30 mins till potatoes are soft.<br \/>\nDrain water, mash potatoes &amp; set aside.<br \/>\nAdd half of mashed potatoes into a bowl, mix with grated cheese &amp; shape into 2 cm balls.<\/p>\n<h2>Caramelised Onion<\/h2>\n<p>2 tbsp oil<br \/>\n4 cups onion (thinly sliced)<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp salt<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp ground black pepper<\/p>\n<h2>Steps Caramelised<\/h2>\n<p>Heat oil in a large pan on medium low, add onion &amp; cook for 5 mins (do not stir)<br \/>\nAdd salt, pepper, cook for 2 mins &amp; stir.<br \/>\nCook for another 8-10 mins till onions have fully caramelised.<br \/>\nTransfer onions into a bowl with remaining mashed potatoes, mix well &amp; shape into 2 cm balls.<\/p>\n<h2>Finishing<\/h2>\n<p>Sprinkle work surface with flour, roll out dough into 1\/2 cm thick &amp; use biscuit cutter or drinking glass to cut into rounds.<br \/>\nPlace 1 round of dough in the palm of your hand, place filling in the middle, fold in half, pinching close along the sides to form a half moon shape.<br \/>\nPlace pierogi on a floured baking sheet &amp; continue shaping the rest.<br \/>\nBring a large pot of water to a boil, salt generously, add pierogi in batches &amp; cook for abt 2 mins until they float to the surface.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, heat 1 tsp of butter in a pan, remove boiled pierogi with a slotted spoon, add to pan, fry till golden brown, garnish &amp; serve.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dough Ingredients 4 cups AP flour (plus extra as needed) 1\u00a0tsp salt 1\u00a0egg 1\/4\u00a0cup\u00a0sour cream or yoghurt 3\/4\u00a0cup\u00a0water Steps Mix Everything On Low Speed, In The Bowl Of A Stand Mixer, Knead Till It Forms A Smooth &amp;Amp; Elastic Dough (Abt 8 Mins), Cover &amp;Amp; Set Aside.
