You may need to place the date paste in the microwave to soften or keep kneading it. The warmth of your hands will also soften the date paste.
\nHalf the dough and roll out to form a rectangle, cut to shape. Repeat with the other half. You should have 2 large rectangles. (I made them very large this time, I recommend smaller rolls, so when rolling your logs, make them thinner. I’ll tag an old post that shows them more narrow)
\nRoll out the date paste to form 4 long logs, same length as the rectangle lengthways and place 1 log on the edge of the dough, and roll the dough around to wrap the log and trim the dough along the bottome. Roll the log to seal the dough edge underneath. Repeat with remaining logs.
\nSlice the log to whatever size you would like the rolls and place on a lined baking sheet and bake till golden.
\nOven temperature and cooking time varie. I baked at 160C for approx 20-25mins. Keep an eye on them.
\nWhen they cool down completely, sprinkle generously with icing sugar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Ingredients For Dough 500g self raising flour 250g sour cream 225g unsalted butter, melted, cooled slightly Filling 1 packet Date Paste 2 capfuls rosewater Steps Mix the dough ingredients together until all combined, then cover with glad wrap and let rest 30 mins or so.
