{"id":22781,"date":"2023-05-17T05:29:00","date_gmt":"2023-05-16T21:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/resepmamiku.com\/en\/?p=22781"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:30:17","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T12:30:17","slug":"chickpea-potato-curry-rinashomecooking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resepmamiku.com\/en\/chickpea-potato-curry-rinashomecooking","title":{"rendered":"Chickpea &amp; Potato Curry"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>1 can of white chick peas &#8211; washed and drained<br \/>\n1 large potato cubed (I use maris pipers)<br \/>\n2 tbsp sunflower oil<br \/>\n1 black cardamom<br \/>\n2 cloves<br \/>\n1 cinnamon stick<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp cumin seeds<br \/>\n1\/2 black mustard seeds<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp fenugreek seeds<br \/>\nPinch of asafoetida<br \/>\n3 small red onions &#8211; finely chopped<br \/>\n3 small tomatoes finely chopped<br \/>\n3\/4 tsp turmeric powder<br \/>\n1 heaped tsp coriander powder<br \/>\n1 heaped tsp cumin powder<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp red chilli powder &#8211; optional<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp ginger paste<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp garlic paste<br \/>\nSalt to taste<\/p>\n<h2>Method<\/h2>\n<p>1. Add the oil to a pressure cooker &amp; heat<br \/>\n2. Add the whole spices &#8211; cardamom, cinnamon stick &amp; cloves.<br \/>\n3. Once toasted, add the cumin, mustard &amp; fenugreek seeds along with the asafoetida.<br \/>\n4. Allow to crackle.<br \/>\n5. Add the diced onions and cook for 7 &#8211; 10 mins until softened &amp; sprinkle in the salt.<br \/>\n6. Add the chopped tomatoes, spices &#8211; turmeric, cumin, coriander &amp; red chilli powder, along with the ginger &amp; garlic paste.<br \/>\n7. Mix and cook over a medium heat until everything has combined together and formed a sauce (you will know it is cooked when you see the oil separate from the tomatoes &amp; spices.<br \/>\n8. Mix in the chickpeas &amp; potatoes and pour in about 1 cup of water (more or less according to how soupy you would like the curry).<br \/>\n9. Stir together and simmer in the pressure cooker for about 8 &#8211; 10 whistles over a medium &#8211; high heat.<br \/>\n10.
