{"id":18079,"date":"2023-02-12T11:50:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-12T03:50:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/resepmamiku.com\/en\/?p=18079"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:35:57","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T12:35:57","slug":"bao-buns-vegan-whenmeateatsveg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resepmamiku.com\/en\/bao-buns-vegan-whenmeateatsveg","title":{"rendered":"Bao Buns Vegan"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>525g Plain Flour ( extra for dusting)<br \/>\n200ml Water<br \/>\n1 Tsp Caster Sugar ( pinch extra)<br \/>\n1 Tsp Salt ( pinch extra)<br \/>\n1 Tsp Instant Yeast<br \/>\n50ml Plant Based Milk<br \/>\n1 Tbsp Vegetable\/Sunflower Oil<br \/>\n1 Tbsp Rice Vinegar<br \/>\n1 Tsp Baking Powder<\/p>\n<h2>Filling<\/h2>\n<p>300g Shittake Mushrooms (or any other mushrooms)<br \/>\n200g Tofu ( @tofoo )<br \/>\n100g Plain Flour<br \/>\n1\/2 Tsp Salt<br \/>\n1\/2 Tsp Pepper<br \/>\n1\/2 Tsp Curry Powder<br \/>\n1\/2 Tsp Paprika<br \/>\n1\/2 Tsp Garlic Powder<br \/>\n6 Tbsp Chickpea Flour ( add 4 Tbsp Water)<br \/>\n200g Panko Bread Crumbs<br \/>\nVegetable Oil (for frying)<br \/>\nSriracha<\/p>\n<h2>Method<\/h2>\n<p>1. YEAST MIXTURE &#8211; dissolve the yeast, pinch of caster sugar and pinch of salt. Mix together and let it sit<br \/>\n2. In meantime, mix together the flour, caster sugar, salt, milk, water, rice vinegar, oil and baking powder. Add some water if need be<br \/>\n3. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for 15 minutes until smooth. Use a little oil and coat the dough covering for one hour. The dough should be springy when pressed<br \/>\n4. After an hour, knead for another 3 mins then roll it out flat creating circles using a cutter or a glass<br \/>\n5. Once bao bun shapes have been created, cover with a damp towel and let them sit for 30 minutes<br \/>\n6. Over medium heat, boil water. Create a circular cut out of grease proof paper, place in the steamer with some buns for 12 mins<br \/>\n7. Use a tissue to clean Shittake mushrooms and cut up the tofu in sticks<br \/>\n8. Mix together all the seasonings to your flour, then taking your Shittake and tofu cover in flour, chickpea wet batter then panko breadcrumbs<br \/>\n9. Over medium heat, fry the tofu for 3-4 minutes and the mushroom for 2-3 minutes<br \/>\n10. Fill Bao Bun with your fried tofu\/mushrooms.
