On low speed, gradually add flour. Increase speed to medium and knead dough for 7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. You may need to add flour during this process as it can still be sticky.<br \/>\n<strong>IF KNEADING BY HAND<\/strong><br \/>\nIn a bowl combine all the ingredients for the dough except flour. Add the flour 1 cup at a time, mixing with a wooden spoon as you go. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead by hand until smooth and elastic. You may need to add flour during this process as it can still be sticky.<br \/>\nRemove dough to a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a dry towel. Let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 1\/2 hours.<br \/>\nDivide dough into 12 portions. Roll each piece of dough into a 7-inch log. Place dough logs on a nonstick baking mat or parchment-lined baking sheets, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.<br \/>\nPreheat oven to 2000c. Bake for about 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Meanwhile, combine butter, salt and garlic powder in a small bowl. Remove the breadsticks from the oven and immediately brush them with the butter mixture.
