{"id":15591,"date":"2022-11-08T10:48:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T02:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/resepmamiku.com\/en\/?p=15591"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:38:29","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T12:38:29","slug":"pumpkin-preserves-nanos_kitchen1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resepmamiku.com\/en\/pumpkin-preserves-nanos_kitchen1","title":{"rendered":"Pumpkin Preserves"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>500g of pickling lime, limestone or alum- best to use @mrswages<br \/>\n6-7 liters of hot water<br \/>\n2 Kg of sugar<br \/>\n2 liters of boiling water<br \/>\nCitric acid or juice of 1 lemon<br \/>\n2 kilos Cubed pumpkin- one large pumpkin<br \/>\nMastica drops or cinnamon sticks (optional)<\/p>\n<h2>Steps<\/h2>\n<p>Mix your lime with the hot water, stir until the lime is almost dissolved &#8211; allow the mixture to rest and the lime to settle at the bottom.<br \/>\nRemove the white layer the floats on top of the water.<br \/>\nScoop out the clear water, leaving the white lime behind<br \/>\nthe lime will help keep the preserve crunchy.<br \/>\nAdd your cubed pumpkin to the lime water, making sure the pumpkin is fully submerged in the solution. Cover and allow to soak for 24 hours.<br \/>\nStrain the pumpkin from the lime water, wash 6-7 time to make sure no lime residue is left behind.<br \/>\nLayer your pumpkin and sugar in a large pot. Add the boiling water. Bring to a boil and allow to cook for two and half to three hours. The pumpkin will become completely translucent when it\u2019s ready.
