Make sure you keep the stock from the lentils thats where all the iron is<br \/>\nIn the same pot add the ghee and onion saute until onion is golden brown In colour not burnt but dark enough to colour the rice<br \/>\nAdd washed rice to the onion and mix through until every rice grain is coated with the ghee and onion .<br \/>\nAdd in the lentils and salt to taste give it a good mix and then add 3 1\u20442 cups of the lentil stock to the pot give it a stir and cover on high heat until it boils.<br \/>\nOnce it boils turn the heat all the way down to low and let the rice absorb.<br \/>\nOnce water had reduced turn off heat and leave the lid on for 15 minutes so the rice can falfel.<br \/>\nRemove the lid and with a fork fluff up the rice and serve next to cucumber with yoghurt sauce.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients 2 cups of lentils washed 2 cups of medium grain rice washed 1 large onion diced salt 3 tbs ghee Method In a pot boil lentils until 80% cooked not too soft and not to hard drain and set aside.
