{"id":13672,"date":"2022-10-06T09:07:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-06T01:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/resepmamiku.com\/en\/?p=13672"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:41:57","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T12:41:57","slug":"sticky-date-pudding-normasfooddiary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resepmamiku.com\/en\/sticky-date-pudding-normasfooddiary","title":{"rendered":"Sticky Date Pudding"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Sticky Date Pudding Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>250g pitted dates, chopped<br \/>\n1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cups boiling water<br \/>\n125g unsalted butter, softened<br \/>\n1 cup brown sugar<br \/>\n1 teaspoon vanilla extract<br \/>\n2 eggs<br \/>\n1 3\/4 cups self-raising flour, sifted<\/p>\n<h2>Caramel Sauce<\/h2>\n<p>1 cup brown sugar<br \/>\n300ml thickened cream<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon vanilla extract<br \/>\n60g unsalted butter<\/p>\n<h2>Method<\/h2>\n<p>Step 1<br \/>\nPreheat oven to 180C. Grease and line the base of a 7cm deep, 22cm (base) cake pan.<br \/>\nStep 2<br \/>\nPlace dates and bicarbonate of soda into a bowl. Pour over boiling water. Allow to stand for 20-30minutes.<br \/>\nStep 3<br \/>\nUsing an electric mixer, beat butter, sugar and vanilla until pale and creamy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Using a large metal spoon, fold through date mixture and flour until well combined.<br \/>\nStep 4<br \/>\nSpoon mixture into prepared cake pan. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Turn onto a plate.<br \/>\nStep 5<br \/>\nMake sauce Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring often, until sauce comes to the boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 2 minutes.<br \/>\nStep 6<br \/>\nPierce pudding all over with a skewer. Pour 1\/4 cup of warm sauce over warm pudding. Stand for 10 minutes. Cut into wedges.
