{"id":13541,"date":"2022-10-02T10:10:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-02T02:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/resepmamiku.com\/en\/?p=13541"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:42:21","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T12:42:21","slug":"lebanese-chickpea-stew-normasfooddiary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resepmamiku.com\/en\/lebanese-chickpea-stew-normasfooddiary","title":{"rendered":"Lebanese Chickpea Stew"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Lebanese Chickpea Stew Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>2 X 400g cans chickpeas ( Drain before using)<br \/>\n5 cloves garlic<br \/>\n1 tablespoon ground cumin<br \/>\n3 teaspoon za&#8217;atar<br \/>\n3 bay leaves<br \/>\n1 teaspoon chilli flakes<br \/>\n1 teaspoon paprika<br \/>\n2 tbsp tomato paste<br \/>\n1 charred red capsicum (you can use jarred kind but I charred mine over a gas flame then place in a bowl with glad wrap for 5 mins then slice)<br \/>\n2 teaspoon olive oil<br \/>\nSalt to taste<br \/>\n2 tablespoon parsley (chopped)<\/p>\n<h2>Instructions<\/h2>\n<p>With a mortar or pestle, crush the cumin and the garlic together until you have a very coarse paste.<br \/>\nHeat the oil in a saucepan.<br \/>\nAdd the cumin and garlic mixture and saute a minute or so until it turns fragrant.<br \/>\nAdd the tomato paste, chilli flakes, and paprika. Saute, stirring frequently, for about two more minutes.<br \/>\nAdd the chickpeas and stir to mix. Add four cups of water, the za&#8217;atar, bay leaves and the capsicum. Mix well.<br \/>\nOnce the mixture comes to a boil, lower the heat until it boils gently, and cook for 20-25 minutes. I like to mash some of the chickpeas with the back of the ladle to thicken the stew slightly.<br \/>\nAdd salt to taste and stir in the parsley. Turn off the heat.<br \/>\nServe hot.
