Do not add it all at once as you may not need it all.\u2028Knead for 10 minutes in a stand mixer or 15 minutes by hand.<br \/>\nThen put the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth and leave to rise in a warm place for an hour.\u2028Lightly toast sesame seeds in a dry pan till slightly colored.<br \/>\ndivide into portions.<br \/>\nRoll the dough pieces into long cylindrical rope shapes<br \/>\nThen twist together and form into a loop<br \/>\nThe ends will need to be pressed together firmly. I used a little water to seal.<br \/>\nMix molasses with water in a large dish<br \/>\nDip each simit in the molasses and then into the toasted sesame seeds.
