Once heated add the cumin seeds, fennel seeds &amp; whole spices &amp; fry for a few seconds.<br \/>\nAdd the garlic &amp; onion &amp; saute until onions almost caramelise.<br \/>\nNow add the rice &amp; stir for 1-2 mins until it&#8217;s slightly toasted. Add water, saffron strands &amp; salt. Mix well.<br \/>\nCover the pan &amp; let the rice cook till it absorbs all the water &amp; becomes grainy.<br \/>\nGarnish with toasted almonds &amp; fresh herbs.
